At the core of this installation lays a morphing of human organs and bones with the cold, clinical design of a hospital bed. The integration of human elements with sterilized medical equipment highlights the vulnerability of a patient within the healthcare system. 

The portrayal of the body as stripped of political identifiers—such as gender, race or sexuality—envisions a neutral, universal patient. This depersonalization aims to foreground the essence of care, shifting the focus from social identities to the fundamental human need for the primary comodity - health.

r00m_8008135 imagines a medical institution that transcends historical and ongoing inequities. In this envisioned utopia, the hospital becomes a sanctuary— a place of care that is genuinely inclusive and free from the biases that plague real-world medical practices. The decolonization of the healthcare space involves dismantling the structures that perpetuate discrimination and stigmatization, creating an environment where privacy, dignity, and respect are paramount.

The installation draws on Foucault's concepts of biopolitics and biopower, which explore how institutions exert control over bodies and populations.

A critical aspect of this work is its emphasis on privacy - living under constant survaillence and loss of automy.

V jádru této instalace leží propojení lidských orgánů a kostí s chladným, klinickým designem nemocničního lůžka. Integrace lidských prvků se sterilizovaným lékařským vybavením zdůrazňuje zranitelnost pacienta v rámci zdravotnického systému.

Zobrazení těla, které je zbaveno politických identifikátorů – jako je gender, rasa či sexualita – představuje neutrálního, univerzálního pacienta. Tato depersonalizace má za cíl zdůraznit podstatu péče, přesunout pozornost od sociálních identit k základní lidské potřebě: zdraví, primárnímu statku.

r00m_8008135 si představuje zdravotnickou instituci, která překonává historické i přetrvávající nerovnosti. V této vizi utopie se nemocnice stává svatyní – místem péče, která je skutečně inkluzivní a prostá předsudků, jež sužují reálnou lékařskou praxi. Dekolonizace zdravotnického prostoru zahrnuje demontáž struktur, které udržují diskriminaci a stigmatizaci, a vytváření prostředí, kde jsou na prvním místě soukromí, důstojnost a respekt.

Instalace čerpá z Foucaultových konceptů biopolitiky a biopower, které zkoumají, jak instituce vykonávají kontrolu nad těly a populacemi.

Kritickým prvkem tohoto díla je důraz na soukromí – život pod neustálým dohledem a ztráta autonomie.
